King Jesus

Who did the Father decide would be the first to worship His Son? It was the lowly shepherds who went to see their newborn King and left “glorifying and praising God” (Luke 2:20).

Accompanying the angel’s announcement was a multitude of the heavenly host praising God declaring “Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, goodwill toward men!” (Luke 2:13–14).

Shepherds, and wise men from the East asked, “Where is He who has been born King of the Jews? For we have seen His star in the East and have come to worship Him?” (Matt. 2:1–2).

We also read in verse 10 and 11 that “When they saw the star, they rejoiced with exceedingly great joy. And when they had come into the house, they saw the young Child with Mary His mother, and fell down and worshiped Him, and presented gifts to Him.”

We all should emulate this humble and honorable act of paying “homage to royalty” to our eternal King of kings.

Our King Jesus is most worthy of our gifts of exuberant praise and deepest, sincerest, extravagant worship.
